Vero Project S.p.A. ("Vero Project"), a company of the FORUM Family Office ("FORUM") Group, has acquired a majority stake in Syscam S.r.l. ("Syscam"), based in Florence, Italy. Founded in 1993 by Paolo Collini and Riccardo Alberighi, Syscam has 6 employees and a turnover of around € 2 million.
The company is a reseller ("VAR") of AD-CAM software. Its main product is "VISI", software from the Swedish company Hexagon AB. Vero Project is the largest VAR of VISI in Italy, Syscam is number 2: together, the tandem is the market leader in software for mold makers. Syscam serves around 200 customers in central Italy, with a regional focus on Tuscany and Umbria.
Syscam is FORUM's third investment in Italy and strengthens its commitment in our country. It is the fifth investment this year in the European software market.
As always, the investment ensures continuity: the management, the employees, the location and the successful partnership with Hexagon will be retained and further expanded. In addition, Vero Project will support Syscam with its network and expertise in the long-term growth of the company and in strengthening the product offering by up-selling other software products to existing customers.
The year 2022 started in two groups for the FORUM Group with a two-day meeting of the managing directors. The first group comprised entrepreneurs from the software industry, the second group entrepreneurs from the other industries.
The common thread of the presentations was again the FORUM "Principles of Good Corporate Governance". In the software group, the focus was on the path to the cloud. Of the 8 software companies, 3 are cloud-native, 2 are well advanced on the path to the cloud, and thus a large pool of know-how and experience is available for the remaining 3. In the 2nd meeting, the focus was on "organisation and employee management", here the topic "organisational development from hub/spoke to a 2nd management level" was discussed in depth.
In addition, the managing directors had the opportunity to get to know each other personally, share best practices and learn from each other. At the end, the unanimous opinion was that the conference was valuable and should definitely be repeated at short notice for the managers of the affiliates. A date in March 2022 is planned for this.
