FORUM Family Office ("FORUM"), through its industry holding FORUM Software Mittelstandsholding SE, has acquired a majority stake in Mecmatica S.r.l. ("Mecmatica"), based in Spirano, Italy. Mecmatica employs 26 people and has revenues of approximately €5.5 million, making it one of the top 3 vendors in Italy.
Since its foundation in the late 1990s, Mecmatica has become one of the leading suppliers of MES software ("Manufacturing Execution System") for the production control of CNC machines in Italy. The company serves about 500 customers with 8,000 CNC machines. The software is characterized by a modular product architecture with 11 modules that can be booked individually or as part of the system.
Mecmatica is FORUM's first participation in the Italian market and continues FORUM's internationalization process.
The FORUM continuation concept provides for the continuation of the corporate strategy in all essential points. In particular, the employees and the company headquarters will be retained. FORUM intends to support Mecmatica with its network and experience, especially in the internationalization of the business in Germany and Eastern Europe.
Founder Diego Cavalleri remains on board as CTO and Operations Manager and will shape the next growth phase together with FORUM. His comment:
"As a family business, Mecmatica and Forum share common values and visions. For this reason, we have chosen Forum and we are sure that it is the ideal partner to grow further and accelerate the internationalization process."
FORUM invests the assets of a Munich family in medium-sized companies. FORUM's principles in family equity are: permanent, decentralized, entrepreneurial - quite different from financial investors. This approach has already convinced over 27 entrepreneurs to entrust FORUM with their life's work.
