Hawako

FORUM Family Office GmbH (“FORUM”) has acquired 100% of the shares in Hawako AG (“Hawako”), based in Basel/Switzerland, as part of a succession arrangement.

Hawako trades in components, equipment, and accessories for water treatment, making it a perfect fit for the existing activities of the FORUM water group. The company was founded by Gerhard Hassler in 1975. In the 2020/21 financial year (31.7.), sales amounted to approximately CHF 1.3 million.

With this acquisition, FORUM is establishing a presence in Switzerland, which will enable it to better serve this market in the future: customs clearance will no longer be necessary, logistics will be faster, and the specific requirements of the Swiss market can be addressed in a targeted manner. In this respect, the location and the entire team will be retained - they are the strength of Hawako!

Hawako's existing customers will thus have access to the wide range of products and services offered by the larger Forum water group. At the same time, the proven team around Oliver Hassler will remain as contact partners. The founder, Mr. Gerhard Hassler will be available for a transitional period to ensure continuity.

Hawako is FORUM's first investment in Switzerland. FORUM and its holdings are looking for further family-owned companies from Switzerland that are looking for a partner in the context of a succession solution who guarantees the preservation and careful further development of their life's work.
